About Radhika Baskar

Award-Winning Veena Virtuoso

Radhika Baskar is a distinguished Veena artist in the realm of traditional Carnatic music, celebrated for her masterful improvisation and emotive depth. Trained under the revered Late Mysore C. Krishnamurthy and further mentored by legendary maestros S.R. Janakiraman, T.N. Seshagopalan, and A. Kanyakumari, Radhika has honed a style that is both rooted in tradition and rich in innovation.

A prolific performer, she has mesmerized audiences across All India Radio, Doordarshan, and numerous Indian television channels. Her repertoire spans solo concerts, Jugalbandhis, and collaborative ensembles on prestigious stages. Equally fluent in fusion music, Radhika bridges classical purity with contemporary flair.

Her accolades include the National Scholarship for Young Artists and a fellowship from the Department of Culture, Government of India, for her pioneering research on rare ragas in Carnatic music. In 2023, she was honored with the Marty’s Award for Established Music Instrumental by the Mississauga Arts Council and received a Civic Award of Recognition from the Mayor of Mississauga for her outstanding contributions to music.
